The Content Presenter and the Content Management Interoperability Service (CMIS) are delivered out of the box with in-memory Coherence cache. This cache is NOT enabled by default. You can enable it by adding the file content-coherence-cache-config.xml to the application class path of the WebCenter Portal Application.
